‘How do I solve my people problem?'
My advice is to first be careful not to treat every people issue as a people problem.
In growing organisations, frustration with staff performance, accountability, communication, or decision-making is often a symptom of deeper organisational growth barriers. The real issue may be unclear roles, weak systems, poor planning rhythms, inconsistent management practices, or a strategy that has not been translated into the right structure and support.
Before changing people, leaders should diagnose the system around them. Are expectations clear? Are the right capabilities in place? Do managers have the tools, authority and routines to lead effectively? Has growth outpaced the organisation’s infrastructure?
In many cases, the answer is not simply to “fix” the people, but to build the organisational conditions that allow people to perform, scale and contribute with clarity.
