What do you love most about your business?
I love working with our team! Being part of something tangible – finding solutions to each individual need or complex problem - each day is so diverse! Additionally, I love the broader industry networks and how it becomes part of your community.
What is something you wished you knew starting out?
Have clearly defined boundaries and outline what your definition of success/direction would be.
What have you found to be the biggest hurdle to female leadership?
Myself! Often second-guessing myself and having that imposter syndrome. Especially in my industry, it can be very hard to know that balance of leadership while maintaining the sensitivity and care that is required for every individual within your team.
What do you think are the top 3 habits to successful leadership?
- Plan your schedule and stick to what you have marked as priority where possible
- Take time to step back and assess why things went well or learn from your failures
- Stay in touch with the reality of each member of your team – be available to check in and understand what their day looks like
What is the best advice you have received in business that has supported your success?
Don’t procrastinate – its better to make a poor decision and humbly make change if required, than to be ambiguous and never make a clear decision. People want to get behind a leader.
What advice you would give to the next generation of female leaders?
Never stop learning and challenging yourself! It pays off in the end and you will find yourself exploring new horizons you never dreamed you were capable of!
