Established in 1955, the company has grown from humble beginnings to become a benchmark for traditional Italian cheese in Australia.
Our award winning quality embodies authentic Italian flavours, which is a testament to our generational experience and dedication to the cheese making industry.
Our focus is on craftmanship and honouring traditional recipes which respect the maturation and fermentation process in cheese making.
Floridia Cheese recently celebrated 70 years of operation and we were honoured to join the Montalto family at their incredible Anniversary Gala. There was so much joy and heart in the room. An evening filled with all the people that have been part of Floridia’s incredible success story from staff and suppliers to dairy farmers and distributors, and of course, family.

What has been your greatest success?
Away from the numerous awards that our products have won over the years, which are top class in the Australian Dairy Industry, our most successful achievement would be how we have been able to scale our business into a medium to large sized operation and still focus on quality and maintaining our high standards of cheese manufacturing. We focus on being a premium cheese manufacturer and don’t take any shortcuts along the process.
What do you value about FBA?
Sharing real life experiences, mentorship and guidance, and an honest sharing environment would be most of what we love, and of course, networking and opportunity.
What advice would you give to other family businesses?
Communicate openly and regularly with family members, establish clear governance and business roles, and try your best to separate family and business (although this can be close to impossible in an Italian family). Balance tradition with innovation and plan for succession early.
