We spoke with Liz Del Borrello to learn more about her family's business, Leaders Lobby.

Tell us about your family business.

I’m Liz Del Borrello a Professional Certified Coach and the founder of leadership coaching and training business – Leaders Lobby. My business was born from the belief that strong leadership changes lives, not only in workplaces but at home too. After two decades in corporate Australia, as a communications executive, I founded my leadership coaching and training business. I help individuals and businesses navigate the complexities of leadership to improve business results. I do this through professional 1:to:1 leadership coaching and in-house training. I’m based in Perth, as well as travel nationally and globally as a sought after speaker.

What has been your greatest success?

Seeing my clients go from unclear to confident is incredibly rewarding. I’ve developed a coaching approach and training programs for leaders at every stage of their career, having grown to help hundreds of leaders. I also love visiting businesses after leadership training, to see how they implement the learning. It’s such a buzz to see employees happier, leaders more confident and teams more productive.

I’ll soon be celebrating the 3rd birthday of my professional networking group – Leaders Lobby Perth. An inclusive in-person event for professionals to network, learn and connect. I was thrilled when I found out a training participant started their own industry networking group.

What do you value about FBA?

I joined FBA because I believe in the power of community and the importance of surrounding yourself with like-minded, values driven people. As a first generation Australian with Italian heritage (Vastese and Siciliana), I understand the deep values that shape family business. Since becoming a member in early 2025, I’ve enjoyed connecting with and learning from other members and advisors. It so refreshing to have honest conversations about tricky business challenges.

What advice would you give to other family businesses?

Invest in your people. The strength of a family business is more than financials; it’s teamwork, leadership and a shared vision. Never underestimate the power of a professional coach, trainer or advisor to help you – surrounding yourself with the right people is vital for growth. Most importantly, remember that leadership is a legacy too. How you lead today and support your future leaders will shape how your family business will thrive tomorrow.
