All Secure Self Storage, a New Zealand family business that has thrived for 25 years, blending familial bonds with entrepreneurial spirit to create a lasting legacy.
It all started in 1999, when Keith and Lynley Edwards teamed up with Peter and Fiona James to open a small storage facility in Lower Hutt. Joined soon after by their son, Hamish Edwards, the company has grown into a network of 13 operating facilities and 15 properties across New Zealand. From Paraparaumu to Auckland, Taupo, Whanganui, Hawkes Bay, Palmerston North, and more recently Timaru, the journey has been marked by long hours, unwavering commitment, and memorable milestones.
From pouring concrete for their second facility in Christchurch at 3 am on Keith and Lynley’s wedding anniversary to acquiring the Onehunga site on Lynley’s birthday, each expansion has brought unique challenges and cherished memories. The All Secure future includes new developments in Auckland and the Bay of Plenty, as well as expansions at existing facilities, all set to be completed by 2027.
All Secure is committed to innovation, with initiatives like online sign-up systems and virtual assistants enhancing customer service. Advanced security measures, including over 400 AI-integrated cameras, ensure the utmost safety for clients' belongings. During the COVID-19 period, the addition of Rowan, a commercial pilot and son-in-law, transformed travel logistics, proving invaluable during critical times such as the rescue operations at the Hawkes Bay sites during ‘Gabrielle’. With a flat structure fostering responsibility and inclusion, All Secure emphasizes relationships and connection among its 30 staff members across 13 sites. Long service records, like Nick Brennand’s 15 years, highlight the strong family-oriented culture.
