From humble beginnings in 1934, Tobin Brothers has grown to become one of Australia’s largest and most respected family-owned funeral companies - for over 80 years.
They employ over 250 caring, highly trained and committed people, including 12 direct descendants of the founders, and serve the community from 27 branch locations throughout the Melbourne Metropolitan area, Ballarat, Echuca, Wodonga and Corowa. They also have a number of departments and divisions to offer specialist services that meet the needs of Melbourne’s culturally diverse community and offer personalised options to truly help celebrate every individual’s life.
Known for their innovation, Tobin Brothers pioneered the life-centered funeral concept, launched their Fixed Price Funeral Plan in 1984, introduced the Memories and Tributes department and personalised coffins, and developed the Memory Maker App - an industry-first, which allows clients to make funeral decisions through a smartphone or tablet.
At this FBA Meet the Owners event, Family members from the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Generations, along with General Manager Nick Fogarty will give insights into:
- How to work harmoniously with multi-generations in a family business
- How to encourage organic growth and drive strategic growth
- How to prepare for changes and forward plan in a changing world
- Tour of Tobin Brothers Museum and Chapel
This event series gives members the opportunity to get an exclusive look into the workings of the diverse family business sector in Australia.

You'll get the opportunity to see what they do and importantly, hear why and how they do it, as the family shares their business story whilst enjoying an evening of light refreshments and networking.
