NZ Canterbury - Meet the Owner Networking Event - Thermosash & St Pierres Sushi

We invite you to an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience in New Zealand’s diverse family business sector on Wednesday, 21 August 2024. Join the Hayes and Katsoulis families as they share insights into their family-owned businesses, Thermosash and St Pierres International.

David Hayes, second-generation owner and director of Thermosash Commercial Ltd, will host the event. With over 50 years in business, Thermosash operates offices and manufacturing facilities in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch. David is joined by his wife Charmian and their sons Chris, Laurie, and Jamie in running the business. Thermosash Commercial Ltd is part of the Thermosash Group of Companies, including Woods Glass, Insite Facades and Window Engineering Consultants.

Founded by Laurie Hayes in 1973 in Auckland, Thermosash expanded into Wellington and Christchurch, securing projects like the Twin Towers in Auckland, Te Papa Museum of New Zealand in Wellington, and the IRD building in Christchurch. Thermosash is renowned for its innovative approach and commitment to excellence, continuing the legacy of Laurie Hayes. David will share their family business story in this unique event.

St Pierres International, owned and operated by brothers Perry, Costa, and Nick Katsoulis, is a first-generation family business. Costa and Nick will join us to discuss how they opened their first store in Wellington in 1984 and their 40 year growth story. What began as a delicatessen and seafood store has grown into a world-class organization with nearly 900 employees across New Zealand.

In 1993, St Pierres formed an alliance with Tokyo Mutual Trading Company, a leading Japanese food exporter. This partnership introduced superior Japanese cooking condiments and expertise to St Pierres, allowing them to import top-quality ingredients for their sushi. And yes, you'll get to taste it!

This event is a great opportunity to join fellow family business members, network with other like-minded people and gain an insight in how other family businesses use their competitive edge to their advantage.
