St Pierres was founded in 1984 by three brothers in Wellington. Opened initially as a delicatessen and seafood store, the brothers started serving sushi in 1992 as an experiment in the seafood department. St Pierre's wanted to give New Zealanders an authentic taste of Japan and began importing ingredients in 1993 to deliver the best sushi possible to their community.
During this special event, you will hear from the three brothers that started it all, Perry, Nick and Costa Katsoulis. Together, they will discuss introducing the next generation and their incredible expansion across the country. You will also be given the opportunity to taste some of their delicious sushi.

Meet St Pierre's Sushi
St Pierre's Sushi is a family-owned sushi chain passionate about delivering an authentic taste of Japan to New Zealanders. Operating nearly 80 sushi shops, 35 Bento Bowl locations and two K10 sushi train restaurants across the country, with plans to expand to 100 sushi stores in the next five to ten years. Their team is dedicated to delivering the best sushi possible using authentic imported ingredients.
Founded by three brothers Perry, Nick and Costa Katsoulis in Wellington in 1984, St Pierre's was initially established as a delicatessen and seafood store. What began as an experiment in the seafood department in 1992 has grown into something far greater. In 1993, they began importing ingredients from Japan to ensure they could deliver the highest quality and most authentic sushi experience.
St Pierre's continued commitment to quality and authenticity remains unwavering. The brothers are now introducing the next generation to the business while maintaining the standards and vision they established over 40 years ago. The company has expanded from its Wellington roots to operate stores nationwide, growing from a single delicatessen into one of New Zealand's most beloved sushi chains.
