Meet the Speakers

Catherine Sayer Sophia Angala Simon Papagiorcopulo Nick Pedan Daniel Eramo

Catherine Sayer
Catherine is the CEO of Family Business Association, the pre-eminent membership-based organisation representing family businesses which account for 70% of all businesses in Australia. With more than 1.4 million family businesses of all shapes and sizes – small, medium and large Catherine focusses on raising the profile of the sector. Catherine is the previous CEO of Food South Australia Inc and is Chair of Seafood Industry Australia.  

Sophia Angala
Sophia is an economist in the Australian Economics team at ANZ. She provides insights and analysis on trade, state economies and the broader Australian economy. Prior to joining ANZ Research, Sophia worked in ANZ’s Institutional Bank, across Institutional Data and Analytics, Institutional Property, and Markets Sales.

Simon Papagiorcopulo
Simon helps manage ANZ’s geopolitical risk function. In his role he produces tailored geopolitical risk assessments and advises management and clients. He supports portfolio exposure reviews, stress tests, and crisis and response planning, as well as developing tools to enhance ANZ’s strategic risk management. Prior to joining ANZ, Simon worked for the Australian Government in strategic assessments, the University of Melbourne on Australia-India relations, and led a start up producing geopolitical risk analysis.  

Nick Peden
Nick is a Senior Director within the Capital Markets team at CBRE. Nick heads up the Middle Markets division and has more than 15 years of transactional experience in the Melbourne commercial property market, specialising in Melbourne CBD, city fringe and suburban commercial property. Nick has transacted more than $6 billion worth of property over his career.

Daniel Eramo
Daniel is a Senior Director of the Industrial & Logistics team at CBRE in Victoria. Daniel also sits on the Melbourne Industrial & Logistics Executive Committee. Daniel’s focus is with large scale vacant possession sales, corporate and institutional grade leasing, and strategic development services.
