Meet the Owners of Driveline Services Australia
Frank and Margaret Dorrstein established Driveline Services Australia in Brisbane in 1982 as a two person tailshaft repair workshop, built on Frank’s years of personal industry experience and worldwide supply contacts to ensure prompt service and availability of parts into the Australian market.
Forty-two years later, the second generation of the Dorrstein family are firmly ensconced in the business and hard at work pursuing the goal of building a reputation as Australia’s leading independently owned and operated underbody and power transmission specialist. From humble beginnings, Driveline has now grown into a national network of 12 branches and over 100 employees, stretching along the Australian eastern seaboard from Townsville to Tasmania and across the country to Perth.
Now headquartered at Acacia Ridge in the southern suburbs of Brisbane, Driveline’s aim is to be a one-stop shop for powertrain parts and services for all drivetrain assemblies. Driveline provides full workshop and rebuild services for drive and driven assemblies used in mining, light fleets, four wheel drive, passenger, performance, truck, bus, defence, agricultural and industrial applications.
Driveline’s point of difference is a passion for prompt, professional and personal customer service and the flexibility and agility of operations that comes with remaining a fully independent Australian family owned and operated business in a world where increasing corporatisation and bureaucracy has impacted many competitors. With a customer base stretching from retail customers and small local workshops to large multinational mining and maintenance companies, Driveline also retains a number of loyal and long serving staff members, some of whom have been employed for over three decades and been an integral part in the company’s growth over that time.
