About The Stillwell Motor Group:
The Stillwell Motor Group has a rich history grounded in family values and a passion for excellence. Founded in 1949 by Bib Stillwell, the business quickly gained a reputation for excellence in sales and service. Bib's success as a racing driver added to the prestige of the dealership, which initially represented MG, Morris, and Jaguar.
Bib's racing career included partnerships with famous racing car names such as Brabham, Lola, Gulf Mirage, Ford GT 40, Maserati Birdcage, and Cooper Climax. His accomplishments on the track were matched by his business ventures, leading to the establishment of B.S. Stillwell-Holden in 1953 and later a Ford dealership in Kew.
After retiring from full-time racing in 1965, Bib expanded his business interests into aviation, becoming President of Gates Learjet Corporation in the USA and setting a world altitude record for an executive jet. Returning to Australia, he added a BMW dealership to his portfolio, which included Ford, Toyota, and Honda interests in Melbourne and Sydney. Bib's legacy continued with the founding of Silverstone Jaguar in Doncaster and the expansion of BMW dealerships in Melbourne until his passing in 1999.
The second generation of the Stillwell family has carried on Bib's passion, adapting and growing the business to meet the evolving demands of automotive consumers. Their commitment to
customer service and ownership experience has earned them numerous accolades, including the prestigious Australian Family Business of the Year award.
Today, The Stillwell Group remains a Melbourne-based family business dedicated to delivering the highest standards of performance, attention to detail, and customer satisfaction.
