Call for FBA Director Nominations

Family Business Australia Ltd (trading as Family Business Association) is calling for Director Nominations across four regions - New South Wales/ACT, Queensland, South Australia/Northern Territory and Victoria/Tasmania - and encourage applications from FBA members by 26 August 2024.

Family Business Australia Ltd (trading as Family Business Association) is calling for Director Nominations across four regions - New South Wales/ACT, Queensland, South Australia/Northern Territory and Victoria/Tasmania - and encourage applications from FBA members by 26 August 2024. 

The election of members to the Board of Directors will take place at the Annual General Meeting of Family Business Australia Ltd on 22 October at 12pm (AEDT), with venue and link to be advised in a formal notice of the meeting later this year.

The Board is responsible for the policy, practices, overall management and operation of the FBA. The Regional Directors will be responsible for leading and representing the Family Business Association in their region. This role involves fostering relationships with local family-owned businesses, government entities, industry associations, and other key stakeholders. The Regional Director will advocate for the needs and interests of family businesses, promote best practices, support and participate in events and educational programs, and provide guidance and support to our members. We encourage applications from members with diverse backgrounds including next generation members.

New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory Region

Angus Kennard, Co-founder and Co-CEO at Inauro, and past CEO of Kennards Hire and on the board of Kennards Hire, Keneco and the Kennards Hire Foundation, is the current Regional Director for New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory serving as Chairman on the FBA National Board. Angus’ first 3-year term on the Board will end and he will be appointed as an Independent Director at the AGM.

In accordance with FBA’s Constitution, a call for nominations is issued to invite current members of the NSW/ACT Region to nominate for Regional Director of NSW/ACT. This is an exciting opportunity to join our organisation and play a key role in supporting and advocating for family-owned businesses in New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory.

Queensland Region

Grant Menzies, General Manager at Adina Watches, is the current Regional Director for Queensland serving on the FBA National Board. Grant filled a casual vacancy position on the Board in 2024 and intends to nominate for re-election.

In accordance with FBA’s Constitution, a call for nominations is issued to invite current members of the QLD Region to nominate for Regional Director of QLD. This is an exciting opportunity to join our esteemed organisation and play a key role in supporting and advocating for family-owned businesses in Queensland.

South Australia and Northern Territory Region

Brett Miller, Group CEO, Miller Dental Group, is the current Regional Director for South Australia and Northern Territory serving on the FBA National Board. Brett’s first 3-year term on the Board will end and he intends to nominate for re-election.

In accordance with FBA’s Constitution, a call for nominations is issued to invite current members of the SA/NT Region to nominate for Regional Director of SA/NT. This is an exciting opportunity to join our esteemed organisation and play a key role in supporting and advocating for family-owned businesses in South Australia and Northern Territory.

Victorian and Tasmanian Region

Sara Pantaleo, Small Business Specialist, has resigned as the Regional Director for Victoria and Tasmania after serving on the FBA National Board since 2017.

In accordance with FBA’s Constitution, a call for nominations is issued to invite current members of the VIC/TAS Region to nominate for Regional Director of VIC/TAS. This is an exciting opportunity to join our organisation and play a key role in supporting and advocating for family-owned businesses in Victoria and Tasmania.
