Sharon Zollner, Chief Economist, ANZ
Sharon Zollner is the Chief Economist at ANZ Bank New Zealand, bringing over two decades of experience in macroeconomics and financial analysis. She began her career at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand in 1998, later gaining international experience at Norway's central bank. In 2010, she joined ANZ and was appointed Chief Economist in 2017.
Raised on a cropping farm near Methven, Sharon holds a Master of Commerce from the University of Canterbury. She is renowned for her ability to demystify complex economic trends, making them accessible and relevant to everyday New Zealanders. Notably, she developed the ANZ Truckometer, an innovative tool that uses traffic flow data to gauge economic momentum.
Sharon leads a team of six sector specialists, providing insights that help businesses navigate the evolving economic landscape.
