We spoke with Rebecca and Ali Hart from Stockyard Beef, FBA members in the premium beef industry, to learn more about their family business.

How it all started

The story starts over fifty years ago, when Del and Robin Hart AM started raising cattle in 1958. They later opened Kerwee feedlot in 1965, which marked the beginning of their journey into the beef business.

A trip to Japan in 1969 changed everything. Inspired by Japanese tastes, the Harts decided to focus on making premium beef and perfecting the art of creating it. This led to the birth of Stockyard Meat Packers in 1973, a company dedicated to delivering top-notch beef worldwide.

The leadership of Stockyard rests with Robin's son, Lachie, and his wife, Sarah. Their goal remains clear: to make Stockyard the best beef producer in Australia.

From small beginnings to a company that now sells beef in over 20 countries, Stockyard's story is one of hard work, dedication, and family values. With every bite of their delicious beef, they invite you to share in their journey of passion, commitment, and integrity.
